Paid placement disclosure

Last updated: 2026

You might expect a document called “Advertising Terms” here. CompareHQ doesn't sell traditional advertising, banner ads, sponsored content, or third-party display ads, so a generic advertising-terms document would describe a business we don't run. This page instead covers the real thing that exists: paid listing tiers that affect visibility.

What paid visibility actually means

Providers can hold a Free, Professional, or Premium listing. A paid tier (Professional or Premium) can increase a provider's visibility, for example placement higher in search results, a featured section on the homepage, or a tier badge on their listing.

What paid visibility never means

Paying for a higher tier never changes, hides, or adds to a listing's factual content, and never affects a provider's displayed rating, review count, or accreditation data. A paid tier isn't an endorsement, recommendation, or quality guarantee by CompareHQ, see our Comparison Methodology for how listings are actually assessed.

How it's labelled

Where a provider's placement is influenced by a paid tier, for example a “Featured providers” section, this is visibly labelled as such rather than presented as an ordinary, unpaid search result.
