CompareHQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how CompareHQ works, how we make money, and how providers get listed.

How does CompareHQ make money?

CompareHQ is free for buyers. Some providers pay for a “Professional” or “Premium” listing, which increases their visibility in directory results. This is clearly labelled on every listing. Paid status never affects a provider's star rating, review count, or accreditation data, those come from independent sources and are the same for every provider regardless of what they pay us.

Is CompareHQ free to use?

Yes. Browsing, searching, comparing, and saving providers is completely free for buyers, and always will be.

Can providers pay to change their rating or accreditations?

No. Ratings, review counts, and accreditations are independently sourced and the same for every provider regardless of listing tier. Paid status only affects visibility in search results, never the underlying facts about a provider.

How do I report incorrect information on a listing?

Get in touch via our contact page and we'll look into it.

Does any provider get priority placement in a category?

No. CompareHQ doesn't sell category exclusivity or a guaranteed category ranking, on any tier. Paid tiers increase visibility, not category ownership.

Can a provider guarantee they'll get leads or enquiries by paying CompareHQ?

No. No CompareHQ plan guarantees leads, enquiries, sales, or search ranking. Paid tiers provide additional visibility and buyer-facing features; commercial outcomes depend on buyer behaviour and provider quality.
