CompareHQ

Listing integrity policy

Last updated: 2026

This page consolidates commitments that already govern the site today, see the linked policies below for the full detail on each.

What this policy covers

These commitments apply to every provider listed on CompareHQ, without exception, regardless of listing tier, how the provider was added, or any relationship between the provider and CompareHQ.

Ratings and reviews can't be bought

Star ratings and review counts are sourced from a provider's own public Trustpilot or Google profile, never self-reported and never something a provider can pay to add, change, remove, or improve. See our full Review & ratings policy.

Paid tiers affect visibility, never facts

A Professional or Premium listing can increase where and how often a provider appears, for example placement in search results or a tier badge. It never changes, hides, or adds to a listing's factual content, and never affects a provider's rating, review count, or accreditation data. See our Comparison methodology and Paid placement disclosure for the full detail.

Where listing tier matters in matching, and where it never does

When buyers use Request Quotes, providers are matched against the buyer's stated needs on real, checkable criteria. Listing tier is never one of those scored criteria and is never shown to a buyer as a reason a provider was matched, it is only used to break a genuine tie between providers who scored identically on everything else, the same limited role tier already plays in ordinary search placement.

Same rules regardless of who owns or is connected to a listing

Where a listed provider has a relationship to CompareHQ, its founders, or its staff, that listing goes through the same review process, is held to the same accuracy checks, sources its ratings the same way, and is subject to the same tier rules as every other provider. No listing receives placement, ranking, or review treatment different from what these policies describe.

If something looks wrong

If you think a listing, rating, or placement doesn't match what this policy describes, tell us and we'll look into it. See our Complaints procedure or contact us directly.
